As the Head of Onshore Asset Operations, you will have the responsibility for the department which manages the onshore renewable energy assets within EDF-R's UK portfolio, whilst optimising operational and commercial performance. The role will be accountable for leading Asset Management and Operational Teams, who are assigned to specific operational projects and assets, and driving the overall performance of the onshore wind portfolio in UK. As the Head of Onshore Asset Operations, you will lead the regional Onshore Wind Operations & Maintenance teams in the delivery of all operational and maintenance activities for current and future onshore assets. You will be accountable for ensuring all operational and maintenance targets are met safely, on time, within budget and in line with internal policies / procedures and external regulations / rules for onshore assets. You will also ensure that all relevant internal & external stakeholders are managed. Beyond the direct function of Asset Operations, the role will ensure the team also be part of an Onshore Business Unit, providing the operational experience and requirements into an End to End, full lifecycle thinking in this technology sector. This will ensure that overall success of our developments and operations are optimised to be highly successful. As the Head of Onshore assets, you will be accountable for ensuring delivery of business plan objectives and financial targets for all onshore assets in line with Investor and Board agreements within AMA and OMA s. What you'll be doing day to day. You will be accountable for ensuring the overall ual compliance across all onshore assets with all commercial agreements as well as stakeholder relationships to include equity investors, OEMs, Independent Engineers, and landowners. You will be accountable for the optimum performance (both commercial and operational) of all onshore wind assets in line with agreed targets. Lead the Asset Management and O&M functions, you will deliver high calibre oversight of the assets to protect and enhance returns to investors while delivering seamless reporting to all stakeholders. Your role will require development and implementation of the Asset Management and O&M strategy to optimise the operational efficiency and performance of all assets across the whole lifecycle, liaising with key stakeholders including investors, Directors, and Board Members. You will provide oversight to internal and external forecasts and budgets, and financial and operational variance reports for assets across the entire portfolio. Managing the overall profit and loss accountability of all assets within Asset Operations ensuring management of internal and external forecasts and budgets, financial and operational variance reports, and other ad-hoc reports as needed, relevant to their allocated sites. You will facilitate collaboration amongst organisational cross-functional teams as conditions necessitate finding resolutions for any operational, financial, commercial or technical issues. You will be responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures related to the management of the assets are developed, put in place and adhered to. Also responsible for the completion of periodic asset reviews, formalising all the operational status of the asset, statutory compliance and integrity risks, and life expectancy statements. Interfacing with EDF Renewables internal teams such as Performance, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Development, Operations and Maintenance teams to optimise major repairs, contingency plans, necessary capital investments, payback periods, project returns and life extension options. Working in close collaboration with Onshore Director and project teams to ensure the end-to-end Business Unit plans are successful. You will proactively engage with other EDFR group entities to share knowledge and lessons learned. What do you need to be great at this role? You will be University degree qualified in either engineering or a business discipline, or equivalent, but with strong experience in asset management of generation assets. You'll have a strong understanding of the commercial drivers related to achieving high performance which is underpinned by technical competence. Your experience will include working in an energy company, advisory or investment group looking after a group or portfolio of assets or sites. You will have an understanding of energy markets, policy and regulation and knowledge of renewable generation specific applications and opportunities. Your experience will also include prior project management, administering energy projects and/or project financing of renewable energy projects. Providing exceptional leadership, operational and management skills You will have good Microsoft software skills, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. As a team player, you will be able to demonstrate experience successfully dealing with peers, management, cross functional groups, project stakeholders and unaffiliated third parties. You will be a fast learner who is able to gain a quick understanding of operability and performance expectations of renewable energy technologies. A NEBOSH Certificate and IAM Asset management certificate are preferred. You will have strong analytical and communication skills, with proven experience in making decisions in the best interest of the shareholders. Having the ability to identify and manage risk and prioritise without losing sight of strategic plans and priorities. Strong financial, commercial and management experience.
