The Head of Quality and Performance will be responsible for leading the operational performance of the Quality and Performance function of the directorate, ensuring the successful delivery of business strategy, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives, whilst adhering to regulatory compliance and achieving high outcomes for learners.

Reporting to the Director for Quality and Student Services, you will be accountable for developing a rich understanding of the performance of learners and teaching colleagues across all WEA provision, based on robust quality assurance activities.

A key part of your role will be supporting managers across the WEA to develop highly effective quality assurance practice in their regions to ensure performance issues are identified, understood and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.

Delivering inspirational training through staff development activities, guidance and support for managers and their teams, equipping them with the skills they need to secure exceptional progress, experience and outcomes for their learners across the Association.

Driving a culture of continuous quality improvement across the WEA that fosters innovation and the sharing and transfer of great practice effectively, as well as prompting rapid support and intervention when needed, to effectively safeguard learner progress.

As Head of National Quality and Performance, you should have:
  • A teaching qualification and experience of teaching within the FE sector;
  • Extensive experience of Ofsted;
  • Ability to lead and manage national quality assurance and performance;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK education environment;
  • Experience of face to face, online and digital educational development and teaching;
  • A strong team work ethic. We like to collaborate and support each other;
  • A passion for adult education, and making a difference!
