The Assembly Hall Theatre is excited to recruit a Head of Lighting to join our dynamic technical team. The Assembly Hall Theatre is a thriving receiving house with over 300 productions a year in a wide variety of genres.
The successful applicant will have a strong lighting background with an advanced skillset of ETC EOS programming and operation, knowledge of lighting design and working with lighting designers, and have a good background in the use and maintenance of conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures. You will utilize skills in lighting network, DMX protocols to network multiple consoles to the theatre’s lighting systems.
As the Head of Lighting, you will work closely with external suppliers and partners to maintain the theatre’s lighting equipment and order parts and consumables as required.
You will mentor and teach the theatre’s technicians in the lighting department, and take the lead on lighting for external shows, internal shows and hires, working closely with touring lighting departments and designers, ranging from the theatres large repertoire from pantomime to tribute acts, touring theatre to comedians.
You will work well with others and be able to supervise and mentor other technicians. You will have a mature, confident, friendly and approachable manner, be a good problem solver, with the ability to remain calm and focussed whilst under pressure, at times working to a tight schedule. You will be required to work evenings and weekends.
