This is a fantastic new role leading the Learning & Teaching activity of Jisc Licensing. As Head of L&T you will be responsible and accountable for the strategic development and delivery of your portfolio, in alignment with the Jisc strategy and our digital transformation frameworks for FE and Skills (FES) and Higher Education (HE),
About the role:
In Jisc Licensing we broker agreements with vendors for content and software solutions that will enable our members to deliver a quality student experience, deliver high quality research and innovation and enable digital transformation.
To ensure our negotiations deliver on the strategic priorities of our members, our strategic groups set the direction of negotiations and provide us with our mandate to negotiate on behalf of all UK universities and colleges.
We strive to be evidence-driven in our negotiations and licensing and to enable our members, customers and funders to take evidence-based management decisions through the use of our data and intelligence products.
Responsibilities will include:
You will lead a team of licensing, partnership and customer success roles and be responsible for ensuring the L&T team perform the following critical functions:
- broker, negotiate and licence L&T solutions that deliver value and impact to our customers
- broker partnerships with vendors, edtech, businesses and our customers to deliver L&T solutions
- develop pilots, experiment and test initiatives, business models and licensing models for new solutions
- support customers to engage with and embed solutions, pilots and partnerships
- embed and drive the achievement of best practice, standards and regulatory requirements
Key Skills and Experience:
- A track record in the successful management of digital content/software procurement / licensing / partnership to meet the evolving needs of the UK education community and to obtain value for money
- Demonstrable experience in negotiation and licensing and the creation and implementation of business models
- Experience of product / service management and development
- A track record of successfully leading, motivating and developing a team of professional staff to achieve high performance and continual service improvement
- A track record in successfully identifying, developing, evaluating and realising new business opportunities which deliver benefit to members and customers
