About the role.

As an executive team member, the Head of IT – T&S plays a key role in defining and shaping the IT roadmaps, and in conjunction with the CIO and Peers, develop and deliver an IT strategy achieving the future vision of IT across the business.

Within this role, you will have full accountability for functional / operational division results and lead IT-related disciplines which coordinate and control highly strategic activities, initiatives, and subjects with significant impact on overall results and/or very high business risk potential. Working closely with the business and colleagues, you will share your current knowledge and newly gained information ensuring best practices are followed and the experience level of the IT function is enhanced.

To be successful in delivering the transformation and associated projects and reach a BAU operating status, you will need to be generate the commitment for those working on the projects but also colleagues across all business functions, increasing the motivation and enthusiasm for the company and IT division

Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Active member of the IT Management Team; collaborating with peers and senior management to ensure the department is working in line with company goals.
  • Strategic planning and developing road maps – both in terms of technology and technology organisation
  • Communicating strategic plans & future vision and motivating the team to deliver.
  • Business Expansion – delivering technology and organisational environments required to support programme
  • Representing CIO / IT Management during appropriate audits
  • Assisting with legal and contractual negotiations over IT related matters
  • Recruits, motivates and develops members of the team
  • Leads and manages virtual cross functional teams; determines team structure, roles and performance targets in co-operation with general management
  • Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct reports

What are the requirements?

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in IT functions with leadership responsibility
  • Manages and leads the team through expertise in most areas of the function
  • Strong communication skills, with both internal team members and internal and external business stakeholders
  • Proven ability to plan, organise, prioritise, manage, and track numerous concurrent activities to successful outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Technology agnostic with a broad base of technical skills that facilitate identification solutions based on fitness for purpose rather than technology preferences
  • Lifelong learner – willing to take on new challenges, and step outside of comfort zone
