The main role of the Head Of Infrastructure is to oversee and manage company infrastructure and helpdesk teams, server stack (currently virtually hosted) and software solutions (excluding practise management, case management and security solutions). This role involves but is not limited to the following:
Ensure that IT delivers a reliable, supportable and scalable IT infrastructure
Provide excellent user experiences across 2000+ users (and growing)
Conduct vendor and supplier performance management, ensuring value for money
Develop and implement department and supplier SLAs, reporting monthly performance to the IT Operations Director
Provide expertise and advice at the most senior level on policy and strategy
Maintain knowledge of current best-practise, implementing solutions as appropriate
Analyse business requirements of all business departments to determine their technology needs
Oversee upgrading of the new ManageEngine Ticketing System and associated business processes.
Develop staff engineering technical skills and business practices
Introduce practices to drive down outages and remedial demand arriving at the helpdesk
Oversee the introduction of ITIL standards
Lead and motivate your team and suppliers
Ensure high levels of collaboration and coordination between the staff of IT infrastructure and applications support/development.
Ensure effective people management systems are deployed, deliver training and progression opportunities, and manage business succession needs
Maintain structured probations, appraisals and disciplinary processes
Providing line management, coaching and support to IT staff
Provide technical and operational support
Prepare department budgets
Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, telecommunications
Sound understanding of security practices
Excellent project planning and management skills
Experience in digital and cloud transformation
Fresh and energetic approach, focussed on delivering continuous improvement
Demonstrable track record in delivering successful large network solutions
BSc/ BA in computer science or equivalent preferred
Proven track record in Senior IT Management, managing multiple IT disciplines such as DBAs, networks and service management
An organised approach to the role, planning strategy and outcomes for each FY
Ability to work with and influence key Stakeholders
Ability to build a team, manage staff, maintain morale, supervise and mentor
Ability to build supplier relationships, creating cost-efficient contracts
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Travel across office portfolio as required
