Job Title: Head of Internal Communications
Location: Home-based with occasional travel
Salary: Circa £70,000 plus car allowance of £6400
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5

About the role:
As the Head of Internal Communications (IC), you’ll draw on your experience of managing significant change communication to plan and deliver highly effective IC to all Anchor colleagues and residents. You’ll lead and develop your direct reports to deliver excellent services in a fast-moving environment.
An expert in your field, with experience of co-ordinating complex communications campaigns and managing competing priorities, you’ll develop and implement a comprehensive IC and colleague engagement plan which will support the achievement of Anchor’s vision and strategic goals. You’ll also be tasked with developing and maintaining an effective operational IC function and channel strategy to ensure colleagues are kept aware of changes which affect the way they do their jobs.
To build on Anchor’s employer brand and reputation as a leading provider of care and housing for older people, you’ll provide expert advice to SLT on internal communications and colleague engagement. You’ll also use established measurement and evaluation of colleague engagement, along with the effectiveness of campaigns and channels, to drive continuous improvement.
About you:
You’ll have a successful track record in internal communications at a senior level, in a customer-facing business, preferably within a regulated environment and with experience of housing. You’ll be an effective people manager and be educated to Degree level or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience. A relevant professional qualification is also preferred.
You will also have:
- Experience of budget setting and budget management.
- Knowledge of the older people’s housing and care sectors
- Experience of managing a “news grid” or similar, as well as intranets, content management systems and enterprise social media.
- A proficiency in understanding and manipulating data, particularly in relation to colleague engagement surveys
