Job Title: Head of Human Resources
Hours of Work: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Remuneration: £60,000.00 - £65,000.00 dependent on experience
Contract Length: Permanent
Accountable to: Chief Executive Officer
Accountable for: 1x Project Support Officer, 1x HR Assistant
Location: Usually 48 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TY and occasionally other locations in Haringey
Job Summary
This HR leadership role presents a unique opportunity to contribute HR process and resource scalability to the steady growth of the Haringey GP Federation; a dynamic, younger organisation dedicated to high quality primary healthcare, which has grown rapidly, both in scope and in its reputation as an innovator and effective coordinator of key primary healthcare initiatives in north London.
This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to both broaden and deepen our HR function to the next stage of its development, at a key organisational growth point. The role will be key in progressing our People Strategy including enhancing colleague experience throughout the employment life cycle and supporting the development of the knowledge of HR processes and skills across the organisation.
We are inviting applications from those with first class generalist HR skills, that have worked in dynamic service industries (optimally but non-essentially within healthcare) and have a proven track record in scaling up HR services to support rapid growth.
1. Key working relationships
- Influence and maintain positive relationships with a broad range of senior internal stakeholders
- Participate in relevant internal working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide, information and expertise including the Executive Management Team, People Committee and the Employee
Engagement Group
- Develop and implement data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data
- Explain highly complex issues to a wide range of internal stakeholders
2. Functional responsibilities
Key contributor to and influencer of the Federation’s People Strategy, (as a key enabler of the
Federation’s Strategic Plan); leading on the delivery of the following priorities in collaboration with the Executive Management Team:
- Establishing and embracing culture
- Talent attraction and retention
- Training and development
- Staff engagement and wellbeing
- Infrastructure and documentation updates
3. Operational responsibilities
- Key contributor to and coordinator of the Federation’s People Committee, which benefits from contributions across Federation leadership
- Overseeing the Federation’s talent acquisition and onboarding activities and ensuring management is supported throughout
- Key contributor to the effective management of change across the Federation; advising on strategies to achieve high levels of commitment to achieving agreed outcomes
- Leading the development, enhancement and utility of HR systems and practices and the provision of a range of support services and to all Federation colleagues
- Providing leadership and guidance on issues relating to the equality and diversity agenda
- Advising on the handling of serious employee relations matters and sensitive cases, deploying high level professional skills to achieve successful outcomes

- Driving new strategic HR initiatives and improvements in key areas which support organisational growth, including:
- Championing behaviors to develop a high-performance culture
- Talent management / succession planning – identifying and nurturing organisational talent
- Career pathing – identifying alternative career streams and attractive career paths to optimise key talent retention and build organisational strength

- Learning and development – managing the design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programmes that meet organisational need
