As Head of HR, you will lead HR and Internal Communications professionals to deliver across high priority areas such as resourcing, engagement, reward, strategic workforce planning , people analytics and employee relations.

Having already worked at a senior level you will bring substantial HR and leadership experience, where you have demonstrated creativity and drive to raising organisational wide people management capability.

Working in partnership with organisational leaders and closely with our Head of Organisation Development and Design,, you will be reviewing, adapting and improving the HR offer for customers and responding to the often-complex challenges of both internal and external environments.

The Head of HR is responsible for leading on all people related issues. Working closely with our Head of OD and D to ensure our plans and practices work in alignment, enabling successful delivery of our Strategic objectives through great employee experiences and a healthy organisational culture.

You will provide specialist expertise to the Executive Board, on complex people issues, strategic workforce planning, people analytics, reward and recruitment.

Key Activities

  • As Head of the HR profession, you are responsible for leading our HR and Internal Communications teams ensuring plans are outcome focussed and in line with our organisational objectives
  • Provide HR advice to all stakeholders; building strong relationships for Companies House to meet its people commitments
  • Operate as the technical HR expert for the business, providing oversight for all people related changes.
  • Lead the workforce planning team in the development of proactive planning that meets capacity and capability requirements and establishes attraction, talent and development strategies
  • Develop and deliver people management processes and solutions to meet business needs and delivery goals, ensuring value for money that provides high quality services and improves internal efficiencies and performance.
  • Oversee and guide the organisation’s approach to employment relations and complex casework.
  • Lead on pay and reward strategies to ensure we attract and retain the talent we need to deliver
  • Play a leading role in the embedding of diversity and inclusion as a key enabler of successful business outcomes and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Ensure through evidence based practice the strategic and tactical use and analysis of people data and customer insight to inform and drive strategic changes and to improve HR performance.
  • Work together with the Organisational Development Team to commission appropriate products which support key elements of our people strategy.

Essential criteria:

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced at a senior level, in public or private sector, of delivering a range of Human Resources activities including complex ER casework
  • An excellent leader with the ability to coach, develop and engage individuals and teams to achieve high performance.
  • Able to clearly articulate vision and strategy and use their influencing skills to obtain buy in and engagement across the organisation.
  • Able to develop productive working relationships, engaging with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experienced in HR as a tool for culture change advocating and capturing how it grows an inclusive and engaged community within the workplace.
  • Qualified to level 7 with Chartered/fellow membershipof the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
