Job description

Are you an experienced care or health professional with a track record in working with people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties or acquired brain injuries? Do you have top-notch problem-solving skills, great organisation and excellent communication?

We have an exciting vacancy for a Head of Health Care and Support within our Residential team. In the role you will join the Director of Services and the current Head of Department to form a strong and dynamic leadership team, managing and developing the health, care and support aspects of National Star.

  • Relevant qualification at Level 5 in a care-related field (for example, nursing, occupational therapy, social work, care)
  • Registered Managers award or additional management qualification to Level 4
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in care or health service delivery
  • Minimum of two years’ management experience which includes staff management, operational planning leadership and management of teams
  • Experience of working with people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties or acquired brain injuries

National Star is committed to promoting the highest standards of care, health and wellbeing, and if you believe you have the attributes to lead and develop a range of teams to achieve this, we would welcome your application.

Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level. Where appropriate, the adult and child barred lists will be checked and we will not employ anyone who appears on either of those registers.

We prefer people to submit an online application as this helps support the charity in saving money.
