Millyard Peoples is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a global company based in the Central Belt of Scotland, to recruit a senior finance professional to manage a large transactional finance team. This job is a newly created opportunity that has come about due to the continued growth and expansion of the business.
The successful candidate will manage the transactional teams based in Edinburgh who provide accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll support to the organisation globally. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement of people, processes, and systems within the function to ensure optimal performance and business support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance leader who has experience of leading a shared service finance team or leading an operational finance team, to join a growing global business and continue the development and growth of a critical business function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable and Payroll functions
- Develop and report Key Performance Indicators on SLAs with a focus on providing higher quality service as well as transparency to the internal customers
- Manage timely and accurate delivery of actual financial information for European based trading entities and holding companies
- Balance Sheet and Working Capital Management ensuring cashflow and working capital targets are achieved in the AP and AR areas
- Support Treasury Operations activities as they relate to the shared service centre activities
- Management of relationships with both internal and external auditors
- Lead transactional teams through finance and business change projects – business integrations, transitions, new systems implementation
- Lead the rollout of a global payroll solution
- Maintain effective operation of the financial control environment
The successful candidate:
- Experience operating in a finance leadership position in a shared services environment or involved in an operational finance function from the “ground up”.
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA) or strong experience in a similar role, those “qualified by experience” will be considered
- Strong accounting skills and proven leadership experience in a hands-on transactional environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines as well as being customer focused and proactive

- Have a flexible approach to leadership and be comfortable supporting individual team members, adopting a hands-on approach when necessary
