This is a great opportunity within a large independently run retail & wholesale businesses. Sat within the buying & distribution division this is a commercially focused position that is a blend of business partnering and reporting, feeding your figures into a central finance function.
The role requires a fully qualified accountant who has a strong background in a wholesale/retail or product distribution based environment. You will need to be great with analysis and have advanced excel skills, ideally being rehearsed in the use of SQL. You will be a confident communicator, have outstanding relationship building skills, and enjoy working with the business.
This is an ambitious company with a great leadership team and this role will support a key business unit in the provision of insightful financial information and analysis to allow for commercially astute business decisions and optimisation of profitability.
This is an integral role that will be able to quickly add value and will be a key/trusted business advisor to the divisional leadership team.
Responsibilities of the role include:
· Maintain and improve business analysis data and KPIs for the buying/procurement and distribution operations
· Manage Power BI reporting, including building of reports and analysis for end users
· Own the preparation of the board packs for the division
· Work with the business to prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts
· Assist and advise on evaluation of new business opportunities and support key business decision makers
· Manage the month end reporting process for the business unit
· Involvement in pricing, gross margin analysis, stock controls
· Overview and analysis of rebates
· Warehouse cost management
Candidate requirements:
· Fully Qualified Accountant with PQE (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
· Previous experience within a wholesale/product distribution/retail company
· Advanced Excel ideally with SQL exposure
· Experience of Power BI would be highly beneficial, providing high quality reports and dashboard
· Commercially astute with exceptional analytical skills
· Able to demonstrate the ability to derive strong and actionable insights from data that can be turned into actual operational benefits
· Ability to engage and present to all levels of stakeholders
· Self motivated, positive ‘can-do’ attitude, logical, adaptable and approachable
· Proven business partnering with key stakeholders
· Able to build and deliver reports for operational and strategic use
· Collaborative, team-player who enjoys being immersed within a business unit whilst able to be the link with central finance.
· Able to work in a fast paced, ever changeable environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
