Role: Head of Commercial Finance, Public Sector
Reports to: VP Commercial Finance
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Negotiable based on Skills and Experience
Hours: 37.5
Location: Manchester/Bristol/WAHA
Regular travel to other offices, particularly the Manchester office is a requirement for the role holder.
Overview:
The Head of Commercial Finance role will design and lead all activities which ensure the profitability of the Public Sector business. This role will work very closely with SVP/VP colleagues on a daily basis to support, innovate and challenge as necessary in order that profitability targets are achieved. The role holder will manage Commercial Analysts either in the UK and/or overseas in India to support the delivery of objectives.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Ensure new Public Sector Business clients are performing in line with the target P&L from day one through the control of accounting activity, pricing assumptions and billing.
· Assess and monitor financial performance taking targeted interventions as required to understand issues, create recovery plans and maintain roadmaps that manage risks and opportunities across the Public Sector portfolio.
· Lead Open Book accounting activities for clients as required.
· Support Month End close activities ensuring accuracy, adherence to Group standards and accounting practices whilst planning to achieve profit targets.
· Provide regular updates to senior colleagues (up to SVP/C-Suite level) on financial performance, ensuring complex financial matters are presented in a simple, transparent manner.
· Work collaboratively across Finance, Operations, WFM, and MI teams to support improved insight on commercial drivers, providing commentary and responding to queries and questions from stakeholders.
· Complete regular quality audits on Public Sector Accounts aimed at providing assurance on all financial & commercial matters whilst putting in place and tracking improvement actions. These should include, billing accuracy and optimisation (MLOTT), adherence to commercial schedule and management of risks and opportunities.
· Lead repricing activities for annual reviews and/or retenders utilising support from Pricing Team as required for more complex retenders/RFP.
· Lead, develop and coach direct reports to fulfil their potential and deliver valuable support activities.
Skills and Experience Required
· Accountancy background and qualification,
· Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar type Finance or Commercial role with ideally 3+ years in a contact centre environment.
· Strong analytical skills utilising a range of tools and techniques
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Managing complex information and data whilst presenting it in a simple manner.
· Production of MI reports
· Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
· Excellent time management and prioritisation.
