Head of Commercial Excellence

As the Head of Commercial Excellence, you will have oversight of the entire business, lead a diverse, high performing and motivated team of people, and you help to shape the future strategy for GSK UK Commercial.
In this highly visible role, you will provide thought partnering and business support to UK Commercial as a member of the Performance, Strategy & Operations leadership team. To succeed in this role, we are looking for an individual who demonstrates a thorough understanding of the business, has demonstrated the ability to build strong professional relationships with senior management and has exceptional interpersonal skills. This role requires someone who is passionate about driving performance, seeking out innovative solutions to complex problems and having a strategic mindset. The successful individual will also have a strong people focus to ensure individuals within the Commercial Excellence team continue to grow and develop.
Key Responsibilities will be:
- Coach, lead and manage the Commercial Excellence team, driving a partnering mindset. Teams within the remit of this role include Commercial Effectiveness, the Meetings Centre of Excellence and Sales Force Incentives
- Drive differentiated commercial value through enabling and role modelling the prioritisation of activities behind GSK’s omnichannel strategy
- Partner with BUDs across General Medicines, Specialty, Oncology and Vaccines to ensure excellence in customer engagement across Commercial and Medical to drive impact and value to our customers and GSK
- Working with Tech, set the strategy for Sales Force productivity tools and platforms including the Veeva suite of applications
- Accountable for governance and oversight of 3rd party suppliers, including UK Commercial's contract sales force partners
- Accountability for oversight of high-risk areas such as HCPE Meetings and SFI payments
Qualifications:
- Degree in Business or MBA
- Many years of commercial experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven ability to set direction, inspire and lead others across the business
- Proven ability to take multiple inputs to define strategy and create/deliver solutions to drive improvement in performance
- Ability to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders, including at UK Leadership Team (up to SVP level) and European/Global level
- Understanding of Sales Force Effectiveness principles, including Veeva CRM and the Veeva suite of applications, their potential
- Experience in data driven decision making
- Experience of project and program management, prioritizing and managing multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to define and shape best practice through looking both internally and externally to GSK
