Job description
xDesign is a UK-based Digital Development Partner working with some of the UK's most recognisable brands like MoneySavingExpert, FanDuel and Tesco Bank. Our reputation as a partner determined to deliver high-quality and robust web and mobile products has enabled us to scale to over 400+ people in the last few years.
With even more ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond, we're looking for a Head of Business Development to join our sales division and continue to drive our exponential growth in the UK. This is a relatively new role and team within the business, so it's a huge opportunity for the right person to carve out our strategy and processes.

About the role and team:
Supported by our Chief Growth Officer, we are looking to establish a Head of Business Development focusing on growing our reach in the South of England. You will be responsible for establishing xDesign within your existing client base, as well as developing new opportunities, from initial contact right through to engagement.
You'll also collaborate with our Marketing team on event opportunities to help boost xDesign's visibility in the market and continuously build the sales pipeline.
We're already in a strong position as a Digital Development Partner in the UK. We're working with some of the largest tech organisations in the UK, which means you'll be able to have a significant impact on further expanding our client portfolio.
What you'll be doing:
- Demonstrating a passionate and deep understanding of the tech world we operate in, where the challenges and opportunities are for xDesign, and our clients.
- Building solid and meaningful relationships with senior business leaders and client leadership teams by helping them solve their digital delivery challenges through xDesign's services.
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting the growth of our Business Development Managers through regular 1-1's and ongoing personal development plans.
- Taking the lead from the initial contract through to closing an opportunity, working independently and as part of a small team to deliver complex bids for some of the UK's most established brands.
- Establishing a strong brand presence in the key regions in which we operate, working closely with our Client Partnership and Marketing teams.
- Establishing strong working relationships with the expertise across the xDesign disciplines, ensuring the go-to-market strategy and proposition bring out the best of the brand.
We'd love to talk to you if:
- You have a track record of winning significant new business opportunities with FTSE 100 and 250 clients of £1m+ value and closing around £5m of new revenue each year.
- You have extensive enterprise business development experience; particularly in technology services for product-based businesses.
- You are able to build strong relationships to win new clients quickly and effectively both in person and remotely.
- You have a strong network already established in the region with senior business leaders and buyers.
What we'll offer you:
We'll ensure you have a highly capable delivery team that can deliver what you sell, with access to the full UK capability of the business. We'll provide a highly competitive base salary and commission structure.
As we're in a phase of redefining our sales function, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the team by defining strategy, growth and processes.
We have a transparent progression framework so you can take ownership of your future career at xDesign. We're also set up to support internal mobility to other roles, such as Client Partnerships.
Our benefits include:
- 6 paid learning and development days a year and a generous individual budget
- Total 35 days holiday (we have flexible bank holidays)
- Comprehensive private medical insurance
- Enhanced parental and adoption leave
- 1-1 professional financial coaching
- Up to 50% off an electric vehicle
- Pension - matched up to 5%
