Job description
The Scottish SPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is seeking a Head of Animal Behaviour. The post holder will play a key role in developing and overseeing the smooth running of all behaviour related operations throughout the Scottish SPCA. Working closely with the Director of Operations, to lead and conduct a review of current Scottish SPCA policies, the role holder will develop and embed a robust multi species animal behaviour service, as well as identifying opportunity for external services and income generation.
The post holder will be required to have an excellent understanding of animal behaviour and must be accredited to a level that will allow the post holder to ensure that the Society is applying the up to date and evidence based rehabilitation techniques, that are led by best practice knowledge and expertise to animals in its care. There may also be a requirement to lead, deliver and contribute to strategic projects on behalf of the function and the Society.
