We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2023 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Head Of Agile & Culture Leadership, to join HSBC.
Role Description:
The purpose of the Head of Agile Culture and Leadership role is to develop, drive and embed our global strategy and approach for enabling a culture of agility across HSBC through the application of the HSBC Agile Framework.
Using deep culture shaping insights and expertise to develop a practical, robust and consistent methodology for embedding agile culture and behavioural adoption enterprise-wide, this role holder will act as a point of guidance and expertise to GBGF and regional agile transformation leaders and teams for all matters related to agile culture and agile leadership development.
Customers / Stakeholders
Key stakeholders include:
- Global Business & Global Function Transformation teams
- HR Backbone and DBS Learning teams to integrate resource and approach into a scalable, sustainable and high-quality proposition
- Technology leadership and relevant working groups (e.g. 4Cs)
- Organization-wide leadership population

What you will be doing;
- Develop and implement strategy and approach for shaping a culture of agility that supports effective agile ways of working
- Design and deliver executive-level agile leadership awareness, upskilling and agile leadership coaching
- Build collateral and develop sustainable approach in collaboration with HR and Learning for upskilling leaders across HSBC to understand and embody agile leadership practices
- Lead global community of transformation teams in enabling and embedding a culture of agility
- Own the design, curation and marketing of best in class agile cultural resources
- Support and enable the flexible deployment of culture resources and initiatives across GBGFs and regions
- Partner with key stakeholders, including Group Learning, HR, GBGF Transformation Teams and Market leaders to enable scaling of agile leadership and culture initiatives
- Design and implement approach to generating agile culture measurement, assessments, and insights.
- Present data driven Qualitative cultural insights
What you will bring to the role;
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships at the most senior organizational levels.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrable subject matter expertise and credibility
- Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing culture shaping methodologies and approaches within complex, matrixed organisations
- Proven track record in senior leadership development including facilitation delivery to senior audiences
- Deep knowledge and experience in implementing behavioural and culture change. This may include holding a related qualification in HR or Organisational Psychology Qualification
- Agile experience and qualification preferred (e.g. Leading SAFe; SPC; PSM)
- Strong experience in a global Financial Services organization, preferably within a technology function
- Strong stakeholder / relationship management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
- Experience of working on a global scale (i.e. across time zone & geography and with remote teams)
- Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines, managing conflicting priorities
- Experience in using Agile delivery tools and collaborative tools (E.g. JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint) and HSBC Agile tooling (e.g. Rally, Clarity) will be added advantages.
- Drive for continuous improvement, ensuring learnings are shared across GBGFs and regions
The role can be based in Edinburgh, Sheffield, Leeds, or Sheffield but some travel may be required quarterly to our London Head Office, this role supports Hybrid working and the flexibility to work from home regularly as well as the opportunity to offer support to workers looking for part time / compressed hours.
