40 hours contract
4 days per week
JOB SUMMARY
To provide a comprehensive, high quality catering service, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents and is achieved within budget.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Ø Delivers a varied menu of nutritious, well-balanced, attractive meals that meet the resident’s individual needs
Ø Ensures adequate kitchen staff are available and plans staff schedules to meet needs
Ø Supervises kitchen team in the handling and storage of food, use of equipment, COSHH and the use of cleaning materials, ensuring all regulations are adhered to
Ø Participates in kitchen staff supervisions and reviews and supports staff to achieve their personal plan objectives.
Ø Assists with the induction and orientation of new members of the team
Ø Carries out stock takes, and orders catering consumables from approved suppliers within agreed budget
Ø Ensures all food stocks are rotated as appropriate
Ø Implements and maintains an effective cleaning schedule
Ø Ensures temperature testing of foods and storage areas are carried out as required and records are maintained
Ø Supervises Environmental Health Inspections

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE
Ø NVQ Level 3 in Catering
Ø Food Hygiene Regulations
Ø Operations of Kitchen Equipment
Ø COSHH / Health and Safety
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £13.50 per hour
