We are recruiting for a dynamic Health Care Assistant and Receptionist in this dual role across our Northampton clinic.
The Back & Body Clinic – Moulton & Wootton, Northampton
37.5 hrs per week at The Back & Body Clinic –across the Moulton and Wootton Clinics, Northampton- flexibility is crucial!!
Rate: Starting salary £25,000
Shift Pattern as below (Subject to Change)
Mondays @Moulton: 9:00am – 4:15pm (6 hrs 15mins) HCA and admin
Tuesdays @Moulton : 1:00pm – 8:30pm (7.5hrs) Reception
Wednesdays: 9:00am- 5:00pm – (8hrs) HCA and Admin
Thursdays: 9:00am- 5:00pm –(8hrs) HCA and Admin
Fridays: 10:30am – 6:00pm (7.5hrs) AM HCA and PM Reception Cover at Wootton
We are looking for a HCA to support our Doctors in our Back + Body Medical clinic when they are carrying out a wide range of injected procedures to help our patients with pains and injuries. This is a dual role that will include shifts on our Moulton and Wootton reception also. There will be approximately a 50/50 split HCA/ reception initially however, we expect the reception element of the role to reduce as the medical service grows.
We are looking for someone who is available to start ASAP with 6-8 weeks’ worth of induction and training. A full training program will be provided for both roles.

The HCA role:
We are so fortunate to be able to provide first class medical care to our patients when they are in pain, with a wide range of medical intervention options available on site. This includes innovative and cutting-edge procedures like a variety of guided spinal injections, joint preservation treatments like Hyaluronic acid injections and platelet Rich Plasma injections for soft tissue injuries.
The HCA role includes providing care to patients undergoing procedures, assisting the doctors with x-ray and ultrasound guided injections, including patient positioning, using antiseptic techniques to prepare the equipment necessary to perform procedures, maintaining a sterile field, preparing the medicines, assisting the doctor throughout the procedure, and monitoring the patient following their treatment.
The HCA will be the first port of call immediately after procedures for patients to be able to discuss their aftercare and any worries they may have. For this you will need to ensure that you are fully up to date on all procedures performed at the clinic and that you understand the potential complications, signs, and symptoms to look out for.
The HCA role will also include elements of administrative work. This will include taking payments, booking appointments and helping to manage the doctors clinical diary. You will be expected to complete several audits including medicines and equipment audits in line with CQC requirements. You will be expected to help to ensure the centre is compliant with all of the regulations set by the CQC e.g., Hygiene, confidentiality, customer service and health & safety. You will be responsible for the ordering, safe storage and stock control of medical supplies. Maintaining accurate patient records. To process billing of treatments to insurance companies
Full training will be given for this role therefore previous experience in this setting is not required, however, working in a similar environment previously would be preferable.
We are looking for someone with a genuinely caring nature, who has good attention to detail and is comfortable in a medical environment. Phlebotomy training would also be preferable for our fantastic Platelet Rich Plasma technique.
You should be organised and experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and possess a good level of IT competency to cover the administrative needs of the role.
The Reception Role
You will be working as the initial point of contact for patients, as well as supporting fellow staff members in varying administrative roles within this very positive but busy environment.
To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record of reception and administration in a busy working environment. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a personable, helpful, and friendly approach. You will be great at calming anxious people, empathetic to people in pain, genuinely interested in people and have superb conversation skills. We are looking for someone who wears a big smile, has a welcoming and calm demeaner, and that also works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise efficiently and multi-task well. You will be able to show excellent attention to detail, with strong IT skills. You will be reliable and possess excellent organisational skills. You will also be able to demonstrate a confident professional manner. You will be called on to provide holiday and sickness cover at times, so flexibility is very important.
