Why you should join our team as a Graduate Electronics Hardware Engineer:
This position is responsible for designing and developing cellular repeaters and fiber optic Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for consumer and commercial products worldwide.
This position is based in our Harston location and reports to the Engineering Manager.
This position has a competitive salary between £30,000 and £50,000 dependent upon experience, plus the opportunity to receive an additional semi-annual bonus. Areas of responsibilities include:
- Design and development of cellular repeaters and fiber optic Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for consumer and commercial products worldwide
- Design and development of Analog, Low-speed digital, DC power regulation & PUPS for the support of RF hardware
- Perform Simulations and Analysis with various development tools
- "Productise" designs for production, including generating bills of materials, part specifications, test specifications, schematics & PCB layout
- Providing RF Analysis & Design for RF systems within the mobile phone environment (3G, 4G LTE, 5G NR), RF simulations, cascade analysis and link budgets
- Assemble/Tune/Test prototype PCBA's
- Assist with the development and construction of Test fixtures within the RF, Digital, Analog and Fiber optical domains
- Performing extensive RF and Design Verification tests
- Fault finding of Analog, Digital, PSU, RF & Optical electronics
- NPI support from design to volume production
- Supporting an aggressive schedule for new product releases
- Facilitating US and international regulatory qualification and compliance of new products
- Providing technical support for sales and marketing activities
This job may be a great fit for you if you have the following:
- Electronics BTEC/HND (Merit or Distinction) or BEng/BSc Electronics degree at 2:2 or above
- Strong computer skills including familiarity with Windows-based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
- Must have legal right to work in the United Kingdom
Preferred Experience:
- PCB & component level electronics design and development
- Hands-on electronics test bench experience, including SMT soldering skills
- Use of test equipment including Oscilloscope, VNA, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analysers
- Experience with PCB layout and schematic capture tools ALTIUM & PADS etc
- Design experience of analogue electronics & DC power supplies/regulators
- Design experience of low-speed digital electronics
- Experience using Labview for automation of test equipment
- Knowledge of key RF components: specifications and design techniques for LNA's, PA's, RF filters
- Experience with simulation tools: Microwave Office, ADS, SPICE etc
- Background in design of RF, Optical, Digital & Analog electronics supporting radio development in the 100MHz to 6 GHz range
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 28 kg at any given time
- Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling
- Occasional travel in UK or overseas at 5-10%
