In this role you'll get to ...
- Author schematics for bespoke analogue and digital audio synthesisers from the ground up in varying form factors from standalone portable synth companions to desktop and rack mount modular.
- Support technical migrations and evolutions for existing designs.
- Technically own the EE elements of product designs from concept to mass production.
- Research novel and vintage synth architectures and study design techniques.
- Interact with a diverse range of in-house and contract engineering staff members enthused about Synths and music production.
- Proactively work with the management team for prioritising issues and pragmatically tackling technical issues as they arise.

On day one we'll expect you to...
- Have at least a degree in electronics design with a bias towards audio.
- Have a good understanding of mathematics for engineering
- Design for manufacturing
- Appreciate modern international volume manufacturing processes for consumer electronics goods, specifically audio and synths.
- To have experience dealing with international contract end manufacturers and their in-house design partners or project agencies.
- Be able to manage and prioritise your time to meet company objectives.
- Integrate designs with other engineering disciplines and collaborate on solutions ( ID,ME,Software )
- Collaborate on projects using online remote tools ( task management, deadlines and priorities ).
- Create/tend project design issues on a daily basis ( Kanban style or similar )
- Cost and source EE components and appreciate the associated costs of PCB assembly as they relate to mass manufacture.
- Appreciate CE compliance design implications for cost and schedule impacts.
- Be able to regularly report project status and blockers to management.
- Drive the Engineering Change Note (ECN) process between asset sources and recipients.
- Understand how to effectively use common lab equipment for test, diagnostic, RnD, prototype assembly and rework/modification ( e.g. 0402, BGA )
- Own the EE BOM and PCB interconnect strategy in close step with 3D Mechanical engineering.
- Appreciate how EE designs should be qualified and tested in a production environment. Assist the factory to design test systems.
- A solid grasp of version control for all design assets
- Good documentation and reporting skills

- Personal Interest in musical instruments, music, studio techniques, synthesisers.
- A secondary engineering interest in Software, ID , Mechanics, UI, physics, acoustics or all six !
- An enthusiastic interest in ( music ) product design from ID to features, functions and history.
- Excellent diagnostics and logical thinking.

Salary: £29,796.71-£62,434.88 per year
