About us

Quick Fix is a brand-new company launched July 2022 in York, North Yorkshire. Due to customer demand we have an exciting opportunity for another handyman position.

We are a non-stop shop for customers who perhaps struggle to find a trustworthy trade person to do both large and small jobs in there home or business. In essence we are acting as an agent via our call centre, to local and reputable trades people and getting the job done for the client without the hassle! Please see our website www.quickfix.co.uk.

Handywoman or Handyman

We are looking for a reliable and trustworthy person to represent Quick Fix in the North Yorkshire area, to undertake various household tasks within customers’ homes in timely and professional manner with exceptional attention to detail.

Previous experience is essential with good working knowledge of DIY and home improvements. Previous experience with plumbing and tiling also an advanage, but not essential. Whist we need a handy person to complete smaller jobs for clients, there is opportunity to work on larger projects within a wider team.

You must have a full driving licence and your own tools. Job comes with use of a branded van for work purposes, fuel and car insurance paid.

The job will require travel around North Yorkshire and predominantly loan working, however we also have an office base in Clifton Moor.

Main duties will include but not limited to;

  • Completing minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping taps or running toilet cisterns
  • Installing household appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers
  • Installing safety equipment; smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Fitting shelves, hanging pictures and installing window locks
  • Undertaking basic gardening
  • Assemble furniture
  • Basic joinery including re-hanging doors, repairing fixtures and fittings
  • Repairing and maintaining heating systems, bleeding radiators and flushing systems
  • Tiling and grouting
  • Basic decorating tasks
  • Routine maintenance, safety checks and conduct end-of-tenancy inspections

Full Time role, hours either 8am-4.30pm or 9am-5.30pm
Rate of pay depending on experience between £10.00 - £15.00 per hour.
Holidays are 20 days per annum, pro-rata.
Immediate start for the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £12.00-£15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • DIY/Home Improvement: 2 years (required)
  • General maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (required)
