Holiday Inn Express® Grimsby hotel is in the centre of Grimsby, four minutes' walk from Grimsby Town station. From here you can catch direct trains to Sheffield, Manchester Airport (MAN) and Cleethorpes. The hotel is close to the A180 and A16 roads and has limited on-site parking. Humberside Airport (HUY) is 25 minutes' drive away.
With a huge range of shops and eateries, Freshney Place Shopping Centre is six minutes' away by foot. Take in a live musical or comedy show at Grimsby Auditorium and enjoy the fresh air and scenic landscape at Grimsby Golf Club, both five minutes' drive from the hotel. Family-focused Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre is less than a mile away.
Conveniently situated for business guests, the hotel has a 22-person meeting room on the ground floor. Smart and brightly lit, this space is suitable for interviews, meetings and events. An informal bar and lounge area is right next to the meeting room.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and personable team player who will enjoy being the first point of contact at the hotel. You must be presentable, professional, and upbeat. We are looking for someone who is comfortable using our front office system to check guests in and out, and also someone with an excellent telephone manner. You must be comfortable supporting across different areas of the hotel including the kitchen and ideally available across early and late shift patterns which include weekends. Previous experience in a front-of-house position is advantageous but not essential. If you enjoy speaking with people, are professional and presentable, and are willing to learn - then this is the role for you!
Job Description
You will be working in a multi-skilled position where you are trained to support the front-of-house functions within the hotel. Your role will primarily be positioned to support the reception desk and also food & beverage service. Your duties on reception will include providing a friendly and welcoming check-in & check-out service to our guests. You will do this whilst using the hotel's front office system which you will be well trained to use.
In addition, you'll be a key member of the food and beverage team supporting in the kitchen when needed, you'll be trained to prepare food according to our easy-to-prepare lounge menu. You'll also be working on the bar taking orders and providing drinks service. And supporting to deliver food to guest tables.
As Guest Service Assistant you will be working as part of a wider hotel team to deliver excellent service to our guests. You'll be a valued and key part of the team having crucial interactions with our guests and leaving a lasting memory.
This will be a 32 hour contract.
Key Duties
- Trained on the front office system, carrying out reception duties. Checking guests in and out of the hotel.
- Act as a hotel and brand ambassador.
- First line of communication to our guests. Provide excellent knowledge of the hotel's products, local area, and brand offerings.
- Providing food and beverage service including taking orders, working on the bar and within the lounge food area.
- Trained to support within the kitchen.
