28 York Place is a hotel, bar and events venue located in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town, minutes from Princes Street and within walking distance of many of the Capital's most popular attractions. The hotel has Bar28, function and meeting facilities and eight guest rooms. As a small business, we're always growing and you will play an important role as part of our friendly team - we love to hear new ideas about how we can improve our guest and team experience.

As a Guest Services Assistant your role will be varied, working in our small team, you will be responsible for...

Delivering an exceptional guest experience
Preparation of drinks and service in our bars to our house standard
Working events, including setting up event spaces and all aspects of event service
Checking guests in and out, and handling any guest queries
Ensuring public areas are cleaned and always presentable
All aspects of bar work including cleaning, closedown procedures and stock rotation
Understanding licensing legislation and promoting responsible drinking

Hours of work...

You'll normally work 10-15 hours each week, covering evening shifts in our bar or function suite, sometimes this means a late finish. You must be flexible to work both mid-week and weekend shifts.
