Our client is one of the leading growers in its sector, growing produce throughout the year. They are a business driving some change, extremely professional and as a result of this they are now looking to appoint a Growing & NPD Manager to explore new growing opportunities through to finished product. Responsible for the growing of the crop from seed to harvest.
This is an ideal role for an ambitious, hands on, hard working person with a passion for growing/farming who is looking to be able to manage the innovation and growing within the organisation.
The role will be to ensure optimal growth conditions are maintained throughout the growing season using the available resources to deliver yields at the highest level and quality. You will be fully accountable for all nutrition & climate set points including venting, energy saving systems and operational instructions for maximising yield and quality whilst ensuring the Company SHE standards are maintained.
You will be tasked with building effective relationships with the in house growing teams striving for continual improvement of yield, quality and forecasted demand.
The role will also be heavily involved in creating a pipeline of new products which will meet customers and consumers expectations and needs. It will involve liaising with the seed houses to ensure new products and innovation. It will then involve managing these trials to ensure that they deliver new products that will meet emerging consumer needs.
This role will probably appeal to you if you have an agronomical or technical background or if you are a marketer with an avid interest in growing. Either way you are someone who is passionate about food and looking to further their career in an NPD/growing role.
