Our client is one of the leading family-owned plant businesses in Europe. Due to their continuous growth and development, they are seeking to employ a Grower at their Wisbech St Mary site, to start as soon as possible.
Working Hours
39 hours per week plus overtime
Salary
£22,000 - £26,000 per annum, depending on experience
Main Responsibilities
Check moisture levels and water accordingly, so crops are maintained at the correct moisture level for their specific requirement
Apply feeds as required, and where necessary additional feeds through the use of portable dosatrons
Monitor for pest and disease. Apply preventative control measures, including ‘biological control’, as well as eradicant sprays when required
Control crop growth to ensure plants meet acceptable quality & specification through the use of appropriate chemical and non-chemical means
Report crop losses to the stock controller
Ensure company health & safety policies and guidelines are adhered too at all times
As a key member of staff, always remain vigilant of other staff working in your area
