About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our thriving and dynamic SARSAS team as a Group Work Coordinator. We are looking for a passionate and organised individual who will coordinate and deliver our extensive group work programme that supports people who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their life.
We deliver a varied group work programme running both in person and online groups across a wide geographic area. Our programme currently includes holistic, psychoeducational and peer support groups.
The successful candidate will take the lead role in the coordination and development of the programme including programme planning, oversight and evaluation, group content and resource design, and the provision of training and support to co-facilitators.
An integral and exciting part of this role will be engagement with local communities and stakeholders to establish and strengthen relationships that will facilitate the expansion of our support and enable the development of new group work and peer support models.
About you
You will be a confident and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting people who have experienced sexual violence. You will have a good understanding of the impact of sexual violence and experience of providing trauma informed support.
You will be highly organised with the ability to plan and coordinate several programmes across a wide range of settings. You will have a proven track record of monitoring and evaluating projects, ensuring that we provide a quality service for clients that satisfies the scope of our funder’s requirements.
You will have experience of delivering group work and training and will have the personal skills and qualities that ensure our group work programmes are delivered in a safe and supportive environment.
You will be creative and agile with the ability to respond quickly and flexibly to meet the needs of clients and our funders requirements.
You will have excellent communication skills and a proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships within the community and with relevant stakeholders.
About SARSAS
SARSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress and help rebuild the lives of survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives. We campaign and educate to raise awareness and bring an end to sexual violence. Partnership work with a variety of agencies locally and nationally is a priority to enable social change.
Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors and keeps an awareness of the effects of trauma at the forefront of our approach to support.

Contract information
Salary: £28,917 per annum (full time equivalent)
Hours: 30 hours per week
Based: Bristol or Taunton with up to 30% of hours per week working from home.
If Bristol based there will be an expectation that one day per fortnight is worked in the Taunton Office. If Taunton based there will be an expectation that one day per fortnight is worked from the Bristol office.
There may be travel throughout Bristol, BANES, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset as required.
Contract: Permanent
