Group Materials Planning & Logistics Manager – Manufacturing - £75,000 to £85,000 + Benefits

We have an exciting and exceptional opportunity for a driven and experienced Materials Planning & Logistics professional to join a leading manufacturing business as Group MP&L Manager.

Our client is a global, award-winning Healthcare Product and Solutions Manufacturing and Distribution company, committed to innovation and quality.

Key Scope of the Role:

  • As Group MP&L Manager you will be responsible for the end-to-end supply chain of the business, from order placement, scheduling through to warehousing and distribution, for a number of sites across the UK, North America and Asia.
  • Control stock levels to ensure world class OTIF
  • Play a lead in the S&OP process across all sites
  • Set ERP strategy and policy for the logistics teams
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior MP&L Management role, including multi-site responsibility gained within world class manufacturing environments
  • Ideally educated to Degree level
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain working relationships with various stakeholders, internal and external, at all levels
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to develop and manage budgets
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in standard logistics software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Manage all Material Control, Scheduling and Warehousing Strategy across a multi-site operation
  • Matrix management of the company wide logistics team, working closely with Site Operational Leads
  • Work closely with the Group Procurement Manager to set stock re-order policies
  • Ensure all sites work to an agreed stocking policy with targeted stock turns
  • Master Data Validation for all sites
  • Set Warehouse Strategy and improvement targets, including consideration of best method of distribution for the business (3PL, Centralised Distribution etc)
  • Lead Freight selection, optimising the fulfilment of vehicles
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and customers
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and time targets
  • Lead in ERP strategy and implementation
  • Lead S&OP implementation and process
