Who we're looking for
We’re looking for a Group Head of Data Transformation who will transform the way Schroders utilises data.
In this role you will report to the Group Chief Operating Office (COO) and be responsible for developing and implementing data strategies and driving data transformation initiatives across the firm. You will work closely with the Global Technology teams and divisional / business domains to design and implement data products to solve business needs leveraging innovative technologies like AI and Snowflake to enable the acceleration of the delivery of the data strategy.
You will be accountable for the prioritisation and structuring of the data strategy delivery programme and the collaboration of data specialists across the various business units.
Key objectives for this role are to:
- Understand current and future data needs of business units
- Additionally assess future innovation data needs of business units which may be considered by some a threat
- Understand current strategic data architecture and assess suitability for meeting current and future needs, challenge strategic data architecture design blueprint if deficient
- Establish and own the strategic data roadmap on 5 year, 3 year, 1 year horizon
- Establish business cases for roadmap initiatives, and realisation KPIs
- Work with leaders of business units involved in roadmap initiatives to achieve buy-in and ownership inc. (benefit realisation)
- Establish BAU governance
- Educate the organisation

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
- Experience in a data-related role, with a track record of success in developing and implementing data strategies and driving data transformation initiatives
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams of data professionals
- Strong understanding of modern data principles, such as domain-driven design and decentralised data ownership, and their application in an enterprise setting
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive business decisions
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management best practices
- Knowledge of emerging data trends and technologies, and the ability to develop strategies for leveraging these to drive business value
- Experience with implementing data products to solve business needs, and using innovative technologies like AI and Snowflake to enable the acceleration of the delivery of the data strategy
