Group Corporate Treasury acts as the bank’s bank, making sure that we support the business in being able to provide products and services to our customers.
So what does that actually mean?
We manage the funding, capital and market risk working with teams within the Group and with other banks and investors. Put simply – we make sure we have the cash we need to support lending to customers and to make sure people can make the payments they need to.
You’ll be gaining valuable experience, through working with a diverse set of teams and gaining a professional financial qualification. Moreover, throughout your journey in Treasury, you will also have the opportunity to get involved in our local community, which Lloyds plays an active role in. We pride ourselves in being an inclusive and supportive workplace and will encourage you to get involved in activities in and out of the office.
Lloyds Banking Group is Britain’s largest bank and the largest provider of digital financial products in the UK, so this provides you with an amazing opportunity to understand the banking sector and kick-start your career.
Job Description
Who we are:
Come and join the Lloyds Banking Group Corporate Treasury ‘university’ and earn whilst you learn how we ensure the bank can deliver for over 30 million customers. This is the ideal opportunity for enthusiastic school leavers who are eager to get started with their career and gain a masters equivalent professional qualification at the same time.
We’re looking for innovative problem solvers, team-players and people with an eye for detail who are keen to make an impact within banking and financial services. If this sounds like you, join us and be part of an inclusive, values-led culture passionate about making a difference.
We don’t just look for exam results – we’re looking for passion, personality and the commitment to learn! Whatever your dream, you can expect excellent benefits, personal development and a career that’s enriching and full of opportunity.
About the programme:
Starting in September 2023 you’ll spend four years rotating through our key teams in Treasury, providing you with an opportunity to understand how Treasury and the bank works. You’ll be immersed in the team immediately, being given your own tasks to own whilst also being provided the opportunity to meet people from across the division and learn the fundamentals of treasury.
You’ll be given the opportunity to move teams over the four years and you’ll be provided with a programme-specific manager to provide you consistent and personal support. By the end of this programme, you’ll have a clear path for progression within Treasury and also across the broader Lloyds Banking Group and a firm understanding of your strengths and career goals.
We’ll also support you in achieving the Level 7 CIMA qualification, which will deepen your understanding of finance and mean you’ll end the scheme as a fully qualified management accountant.
What you’ll learn:
Join us and over four years you’ll enjoy placements across different treasury teams and study for a professional qualification equal to a Master’s degree.
- Working across various Treasury teams in a fast paced, challenging environment
- Ensure the Group is able to grasp opportunities whilst managing its risks
- Understand political and economic developments and how that impacts the Group

- Minimum of 112 UCAS points under the 2017 tariff point system (e.g. BBC at A Level or equivalent qualifications)
Please note – these can include predicted grades and you don’t need to wait until you have your results to apply.
Application Process:
After completing your initial application, you’ll be required to complete an online test, Job Insight assessment, and if successful, attend an assessment centre. We’ll let you know as soon as we can if you have been successful at each stage.
