Job Title: Group CI Manager
Location: Network (Based in Sheffield/Burnley/Daventry) with travel required to all sites on a regular basis
Reporting to: Head of Operations (Amy McNamara)
Contract Type: FTC (Initial 6 month contract, with potential for extension)
Shift: Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00
Salary: TBC/ 12% secondment allowance applicable for internal candidates
This is an exciting 6 month opportunity to lead continuous improvement for the network and start the Boohoo logistics CI journey. The role covers all 3 UK distribution centres and will also involve liaison with DHL in the USA to ensure approach and standardisation is consistent. The role will look at all end to end processes and identify opportunity to remove waste, and implementation plans to achieve results at pace. A key focus of this role is to review the indirect activity across the network and identify tangible ways to reduce the % of hours spent on indirect labour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and sustaining Value Stream, CI and Process Improvement programmes for the group
- Create a LEAN/CI toolbox for the sites to use and assist with Shift and Team Manager training on CI
- Implement ways of working such as PDCA and DMAIC
- Champion Continuous Improvement and Operations Excellence across the network through fast pace delivery of improvement/step change initiatives.
- Drive a culture of Operations Excellence across site e.g. LEAN/Gemba/ 5S
Develop a standardised approach and processes across the CI operation driving improvement across operational areas
- Ensure all project and CI activity is aligned with the wider supply chain strategy
- Defining a strategy which outlines roles and behaviours which need to be in place to truly embed and maintain a CI culture
- Keep up to date with industry trends to identify further opportunity
- CI reporting for the group to show progress and results
Requirements
Background & Personal attributes
- Significant continuous improvement experience, including value stream mapping
- Experience of working within industrial, manufacturing or warehouse environments
- Skilled in applying improvement tools and techniques.
- Proven understanding and use of the ‘Lean Toolbox’ including, but not limited to 5S
- Qualified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar
- Communication and influencing skills at all levels
