Groundsperson
Epsom
We are a well-established Surrey-based company that maintains the grounds and gardens at Epsom College - a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school for boys and girls between the ages of 11-18. Set in 80 acres on the edge of the Epsom Downs, the College enjoys an enviable reputation for producing highly successful individual and team performances in a wide range of sports.
Due to expansion, we are currently looking for a skilled grounds person with solid hands-on experience to work as part of our dedicated and professional grounds team at the College. The range of work covers grounds, gardens and sports pitches.
Ideally, you will have NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or be working towards it or possess a PA1, 2 & 6. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working to a high standard and has a passion for providing excellent sports surfaces.
Groundsperson - essential requirements:
Full UK driving licence
Reliable, enthusiastic and able to work unsupervised
Flexible and willing to work overtime when required (including on Saturdays)
Able to work individually or as part of a team
Enjoy working to high standards
Good communicator at all levels
Problem-solving ability
Ability to communicate effectively with pupils and all colleagues
Sufficient physical fitness and dexterity to cope with often strenuous work in poor conditions
Hands-on knowledge of the workings of a Grounds Department

Salary for an experienced applicant will be a minimum of £27,500 pa (including average OT) depending on skills.
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and a 3-month probation period.
