Job description
We are looking for a Grounds Person to join our team to support the maintenance and general upkeep of our world class playing surfaces at the London Colney training facility.

Your day-to-day
- Maintain our world class playing surface through the efficient delivery of activities including hand and ride on cutting of grass, marking out, divoting, fertilising, spraying, irrigation management, manual watering, tractor and trailer work.
- Assist in the renovation of pitches using relevant equipment and processes such as tractor and trailer work, sand spreading etc.
- Renovate grass areas using a wide range of machinery such as turf cutters, edgers, scarification, aeration machinery and seeders.
- Efficient management of our SGL system.
- Assist with deliveries, including manual handling of 20-25kg bags of sand, sand soil, fertiliser and seed.
- Assist with training set up and associated pitch testing.
- Clean equipment stores and associated washdown areas.
Please note, this role requires individuals to work flexibly. Evening and weekend work will be required to accommodate London Colney training sessions and events.
What we are looking for
- A minimum NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in green keeping and groundsmanship.
- A clean UK driving licence to allow travel to different work locations.
- Previous experience in all aspects of grounds keeping, working to a high standard looking after sports turf/playing surfaces and amenity landscapes.
- Experience using a wide range of turf care and renovation equipment such as cylinder mowers, ride on mowers, scarification equipment, and an SGL lighting system.
- A meticulous approach to work in a role where attention to detail is essential.
- Good understanding of the latest health and safety legislation, particularly relating to use of equipment.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and using own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills.
