Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Required to Lead, plan and undertake training and assessments and delivery of ground worker programmes and framework courses, training and assessment will be required on a range of general construction operatives including:
- Steel fixing
- Basic Formwork
- Basic groundworks
- Basic drainage systems
- New road and street works (NRSRA)
- Kerb Laying
- Modular Paving
- Excavating

- Have a flexible and innovative approach to the management of the learning programme.
- To lead the development of new training material and review all existing training and learning material as appropriate and required with accredited framework updates or changes in legislation applicable to delivery.
- To lead standardisation meetings take place ensuring quality standards are maintained and exceeded. Complying with the Quality Assurance procedures of the College.
- To ensure that you develop and maintain your capabilities through continuing professional development aiming to increase centre accredited delivery.
- To ensure that you develop and maintain personal trainer and centre approved accreditations with necessary attendance agreed and scheduled with the Construction Faculty Head.
- Carry out and complete appropriate course administration including lesson plans and schemes of work.
- To carry out assessments using a range of training techniques and tools promoted by the College.
- To complete necessary risk assessments and method statements reflective of the plant training delivery and activities.
- Ensuring a robust system of pre-use checks.
- To be responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and security of all Equipment and machinery.
- Engage in inspection and College audit requirements including internal/external verification activities with awarding bodies and others.
- To promote a professional image at all times in support of the College’s values.
- Participate in College enrolment, induction and open days, attending meetings, marketing events and other relevant functions as required.
- Monitor the progress of participants on their courses, including tracking skills and arranging additional support where required.
- Set targets for improvement and provide constructive feedback on progress.
- Provide pastoral care, support, initial advice and guidance, including the safeguarding and promotion of candidate’s welfare.
- Work with others to monitor, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of learning, including the use of lesson observations.
- Support participants to improve their study skills and exam techniques.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of course registers.
- Provide reports as requested by the Construction Faculty Head including performance forecast and achievement.
- Use and update learners progress using electronic systems and eportfolios.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as directed and required, that is commensurate with the grade of the post to meet the needs of the College.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
a) Comply with internal and external quality standards and contribute to the College’s strategic aims.
b) Comply with college policies and procedures and health and safety regulations.
c) Support the safeguarding and promotion of participant’s welfare.
d) Maintain confidentiality in relation to all College information and to comply with Data Protection Legislation.
e) Participate in the College’s Appraisal scheme and undertake any training as required.
f) Support and actively participate in the implementation of the College’s Equal Opportunity policies.

Salary: £38,642.00-£41,301.00 per year
