We are looking for a Ground Training Manager to join Business Aviation Training Solutions, a division of Luxaviation Group.
The role will be broadly split on a 50/50 basis between the following:
- Developing, managing and delivering the Group’s Common Ground Training Course on behalf of BATS. There will be a requirement to instruct theoretical elements of each Course.
- Provide sub-contracted support to specified NPFOs and NPCTs across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
BATS
- Leading and coordinating the specification of annual pilot ground training requirements from each participating AOC, in conjunction with the Group’s Flight Operations and Crew Training Coordinator.
- Developing the annual pilot ground training syllabus in line with the specified requirements.
- Assembling the Common Ground Course to deliver the syllabus of training over each calendar year.
- Ensuring that sub-contracted trainers incorporate syllabus requirements into their training delivery.
- Developing course content for non-subcontracted training delivery in line with syllabus requirements.
- Instructing on courses for CRM and PSP topics at a minimum plus any non-subcontracted training.
- Ensuring courses are compliant with NAA requirements in conjunction with AOC Compliance staff.
- Assisting in the contracting and contract management of service providers and training delivery providers.
- Attending and managing the logistics and administration of ground training courses to ensure smooth running and high customer satisfaction.
- Collecting customer feedback and applying feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Act as the coordinator for operational implementation aspects of the Group’s Peer Support Programme.
AVS
- Provide support to specified AOC NPFO and NPCT staff in monitoring EASA and NAA regulations and creating draft OM and MEL amendments for approval and publication, ensuring consistency, applicability and standardisation is maintained across AOCs.
- Ensure that a compliance matrix is completed for each proposed OM amendment, working with AOC compliance staff to ensure AOC and NAA compliance.
- Once amendments are approved, liaise with the Group’s sub-contracted OM publication contractor to ensure timely publication and distribution to AOCs.
- Ensure correct distribution to all relevant AOC staff utilising each AOC’s document management system.
- Assist with coordinating OCC training for pilots joining AOCs.
- Support NPs with maintaining and updating approvals and variations, liaising with NAAs as required.
General

- Any other ad hoc projects and tasks required by your line manager.
Person Specification
The following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:
- Minimum of 10 years working in a business aviation or airline environment.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language.
- Thorough understanding of operations manuals.
- Thorough knowledge of pilot training requirements.
- A sound knowledge of regulatory requirements including UK/EASA regulations.
- An extensive knowledge of IT business support systems/packages with advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong team player skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate appropriately at all levels up to senior Group management.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to cope concurrently with a high number of widely differing requests, which are continually subject to changing priorities.
- Self-reliant and able to take initiative but able to identify when to refer to others.
- Reliable and flexible personality.
The following qualifications, experience and knowledge are desirable:
- CRMI/E qualification
- Dangerous goods instructor qualification
- Safety management qualifications
- Delivering ground training to flight crew
- Safety Manager and/or Flight Safety Officer experience
- Relevant experience in a flight operations department where the production and amendment of operations manuals was a key role
- Liaising with regulatory bodies
- Knowledge of other foreign languages would be an asset.
The location of the role is flexible but the candidate's home location must be in the same jurisdiction as a Luxaviation entity.
Frequent travel is a requirement of this role.
