We are looking for a talented individual with a creative mindset to join our team in delivering creative design projects for the University.

Our team is different from the norm. It is Agile. Creative. Responsive. Innovative. We are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our studio. Sharing your specialist knowledge and advice. You will be a key contributor to the team, juggling a high volume of print and digital creative projects in a supremely organised fashion while adhering to tight deadlines with accuracy. You’ll work alongside our team of designers and internal cross-functional teams, maintaining high levels of communication and collaboration.

This role will see you –
  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualise and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals.
  • Obtain input from stakeholders to ensure that designs meet organisational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the University appropriately.
  • Work independently and cooperatively with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload.
  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities.
  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategise with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials, including web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within our established brand identity.
  • Develop concepts by hand or with software and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of colour, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Use trend intelligence and knowledge of historical and current markets when designing and executing specific classifications.

What you will bring to this role –
  • A stunning, creative portfolio.
  • Complete knowledge of the Adobe Suite. Figma experience will be a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work across a wide range of projects from print to digital output.
  • Confidence and experience in your creative working processes with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • A team player ready to impart your knowledge and learn from others.
  • Good communication skills both internally and externally with agency clients.

Get in touch with us:
It isn’t easy to describe all aspects of team culture and a job role in one document, so we strongly encourage you to get in touch for an informal chat. These conversations will not have any bearing on subsequent recruitment decisions, but we can hopefully fill in some of the blanks, share some insight and bring to life what it’s like to work in Future Students, Communications and Marketing here at UWE Bristol.
We aim to design a fair recruitment process that honestly explores the skills and characteristics required to succeed in our team. Our recruitment process is dynamic and interactive. It’s just as important for you to choose us as it is for us to choose you. If you would like an informal discussion about this opportunity, please contact Nicola Edwards (Thursdays and Fridays): 0117 328 1232.
