Web/Graphic Designer

About Us:

The Garden and Home Trading Company Ltd is the biggest online retailer in the UK of Garden Bird Food with growing sales of over £19m. We are looking to recruit a dynamic and creative digital designer to join our team and continue to grow the brands and business. The individual will play at active part in developing 4 growing ecommerce retail sites and a garden centre website to increase our online presence. This is a great opportunity for someone to make a real impact in a growing company.

Group websites – Garden Bird, Garden Wildlife Direct, Love Garden Birds & Bargain Bird Food.

The role includes control of the appearance of our four eCommerce websites, producing print advertisements, mail-order product catalogues, designing and scheduling email marketing throughout the week.

Web/Digital Designer Responsibilities:

· Reviewing current sites and improving UX, imagery and messaging.

· Creation of assets for eshot.

· Product Photography for website

· Good understanding of search engine optimisation principles.

· Create printed catalogues four times a year for the brands.

· Creating product photography for use on sites and in marketing.

· Creating Advertisements for print publications.

About You:

Direct experience within an eCommerce business of

A “can do” attitude with a proven record in adding value.

Experience of Mailchimp or similar email marketing platform beneficial.

Proficiency in graphic design software including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript.

Experience with product photography.

Ability to work under pressure and deadlines on multiple tasks.

The role would be a hybrid role working in the office 1 or 2 days a week.

Keen attention to detail.

Salary dependent on experience.

Normal Office hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm but flexibility to amend start and finish times. Working days to be agreed but there is flexibility on which days and the hours on these days to achieve the 20 - 24 hours required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-24 per week

Salary: £13.50-£15.25 per hour

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
