Sure Print and Copy Centre is a local print shop located in southeast Calgary that has been in operation for over 16 years. With most design, print, and production done in-house, Sure Print is a full-service print shop that strives for customer satisfaction and producing high quality products. From business cards to large format signs, we tackle almost any project!

Role Overview

Graphic Designer Print shop operations is responsible for providing a high level of customer service with a focus on production and attention to detail. A successful candidate will have minimum 6 months previous experience in a print shop environment, excellent time management, a desire to learn, and ability to think outside of the box to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent client relations and team collaboration
• Ensure all files are prepared and press-ready for production
• Maintain efficient file management and work order scheduling and management
• Report under project manager to ensure projects proceed efficiently
• Adhere to production schedules and deadlines
• Ensure all products meet client and company's quality standards
• Develop layout and design for various client needs and requests
• Proof-reading, researching, writing, and copy editing as required
• Ensure high standard of quality for all work with minimum waste
• Proofread files before sending off proofs and files to clients
• Other duties as assigned by Project Manager.

• Strong attention to detail.
• Sound judgment and strong, creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills
• Proven work ethic with ability to work well in a team as well as independently
• Able to take direction and requests and prioritize accordingly
• Ability to manage a fast-paced work environment with quick turnarounds and tight timelines, managing multiple projects at a time and meeting deadlines
• Excellent time-management skills
• Self-motivated and accountable attitude

Education & Experience

• 6 months minimum experience in a print shop environment
• Degree or diploma in graphic design is preferred
• Experience in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat) is required
• Experience in Microsoft Office is an asset
• Experience with Ricoh printers and Fiery print software is an asset
• Experience with and/or knowledge of large format print and production is an asset

Due to the current impact of COVID-19 the shop is operating under reduced hours. This may result in a variable schedule until regular hours are reinstated.
