Job description

As part of our in-house creative studio (of copywriters, graphic designers, motion graphics designer and photographer /videographer), this role is responsible for leading the graphic design team portion of that.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the graphic design team members, intelligently and accurately inputting on and interpreting briefs generated by internal stakeholders of all levels,aligning and managing their expectations from end to end.
• Lead the graphics team in creating inspirational, challenging, original design ideas and outputs, which are on-brief and that express creative excellence at all times. Driving standards forwards for in-house assets, analysing activity and exploring trends to introduce new techniques to production and maintain our relevance as a brand.
• Lead the delivery of Rentokil Initial and ‘Hygiene and Wellbeing’ Category design, supported by a junior graphic designer, whilst supporting, guiding and managing our Pest Category design lead.
• Create engaging content that our global marketing teams are excited to adopt/adapt for their local markets. Considering the translation potential during production and providing translatable templates when complete.
• Work alongside our Copywriters to translate the brand into print and digital marketing experiences and campaigns, with assets including but not limited to large scale event stands, infographics, GIFs, social media assets, paid ads, brochures (including interactive), presentations (Powerpoint and Google Slides) and HubSpot eDMs, to support marketing campaigns and ad hoc activity (Experience of copywriting marketing content would be beneficial).
• Take ownership of, manage and be accountable for the creative standards delivered by their direct reports and freelancers as well as meeting deadlines, adhering to team approval processes, available budget, naming conventions, and digital asset management.
• Lead inspiring idea generation sessions with members from across the Creative Content team to support exciting and original concept development (and subsequent creative execution of assets) for our campaigns.
• Confidently present design-specific and full-team concepts to the Creative Content Manager and stakeholders.
• Edit/manipulate photography (stock and Rentokil Initial shot/owned) and stock vectors for their intended use.
• Manage resource and rebalance Categories in busy periods to ensure efficient, on-time asset/project delivery.
• Collaborate with our Media team to follow/create visual concepts/styles to ensure consistent campaign assets across design, video and photography.

• Business/communications/design/marketing-focused degree or CIM Marketing Diploma
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills with particular strengths in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Including the skills to animate (for GIF creation).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, with particular focus on PowerPoint for sales presentation design.
• Strong communication skills (including the confidence to present) and the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels of seniority with internal and external suppliers.
• Strong commercial awareness and a keen understanding of the value of marketing in a B2B setting, and the power of communications for both internal and external customers
• At least 8+ years in creative roles
• Experience managing at least one direct report for 2.5+years
• Experience working with an in-house team or creative agency designing assets for marketing campaigns/events/brand awareness, from briefing and concept development through to execution and delivery
• Experience of creating successful marketing campaigns to defined brand guidelines
