Job description
vAbout the Role
Picture yourself in Newcastle, walking down a bustling Northumberland Street with friends. It’s very busy as Newcastle are playing at home, and the streets are filled with shoppers and supporters. You look across at a billboard and see your designs on display for the thousands of people that pass through here every day.
They carry a positive message for the region; promoting our commitment to the high streets, and showcasing our latest and greatest products. Products that help people to own their own home, or save to achieve their dreams of a wonderful holiday, a new guitar, a fishing boat, or sending their children to university. Because at Newcastle Building Society, that is what we do. We are proud to help the real everyday people in our communities achieve their dreams, connecting them to a better financial future, and we have an exciting and very rare opportunity for you to be a vital part of that too.
We are looking for an experienced graphic designer to own the creation and maintenance of both our marketing assets and content created to support the product and other marketing goals. From concept through execution, this candidate will improve our user experience by bringing our brand and purpose to life and keeping it consistent across all our various touchpoints:
Responsibilities:
- Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design.
- Scope and create templates for our marketing and communications teams to be more efficient in their posting on social media, email, and other channels.
- Manage other design needs such as presentations, signage, branch collateral, outdoor advertising, digital ads, and trade show collateral as needed.
About You
We are looking for candidates who bring creative flair, a passion for design, and demonstrable understanding of brand identity. You will be an excellent communicator able to take a brief and get to the heart of the problem you are trying to solve for your stakeholders, using your expertise and experience to provide recommendations for solutions that meet the clients’ needs.
You will have excellent time management skills and will manage client/stakeholder expectations with clear communications of timescales and advising the impact of any changes to brief on costs and timescales.
You will have experience with art direction for photography and filmography to ensure asset creation is fit for purpose and in agreed brand styles.
You will be:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, In-design, Photoshop, Illustrator & Pre-Press preparation
- Interested in design trends
- Skilled in customer centred design principles
- Knowledgeable in print and production techniques
