About the company & the job:
We are a multi-media creative house born in the artistic heart of Amsterdam. We are passionate about storytelling and allow ourselves to dream, create, invent and most importantly have fun. Recently, we made London our new home and we are now looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join our team as we launch Càphê, a modern Vietnamese coffee brand.
You will be responsible for designing a wide variety of visuals/assets across print and digital media. You will contribute to the creation of various content formats regarding food, travel and lifestyle. Your job is to create visually striking content that invites the viewer to explore all aspects of your design (whether that be a page in a magazine or a social media post). You have extensive graphic design experience, a natural eye for composition and artistic flair.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about storytelling, creative, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. From the beginning, you’ll be fully focused on the coffee brand, but we are launching another travel related project as well in the near future. Eventually, you’ll be working on both. As a small team, we value initiative, collaboration, and input from all members and expect the new team member to be a team player who is excited to dream, create, invent, and have fun with us.
Who are you:
- You have 2+ years of experience working as a graphic designer and/or layout designer
- You have excellent composition and visual design skills and a deep understanding of typography principles.
- You have strong proofreading skills
- You have solid knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs. Adobe Creative Suite CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketch, etc.).
- You have a foundational understanding of user-centred design principles, excellent artistic and drawing skills and solid technical know-how
- You are a problem-solver with the ability to multi-task and work effectively and quickly under high-pressure deadlines
- Your work is consistent and you pay attention to detail regardless of project size/scope
- You have strong communication skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal
Your responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and create a wide range of graphics and layouts for packaging, product illustrations, posters and websites with software such as InDesign and Illustrator
- Arranging page elements for screens and printed media, determining text and image size for each page, manipulating image aspect ratio for optimum viewing and modifying page graphics to work with the images and text.
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary
- Work together with the founder and junior art director
- Being part throughout the entire creative lifecycle development of our products, from initial explorations through final design deliverables
- Collaborate with team to come up with new content across multiple channels
