Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Assistant Apparel Graphic Designer to join our in-house “Own Brand” Design team at Footasylum’s Head Office in Rochdale. We are home to multiple brands across men’s, women’s, kid’s and accessories.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 1 years’ previous experience working within the Highstreet Fashion Industry producing apparel Graphics. This should be supported with a relevant portfolio.
This role calls for advanced knowledge and experience in Abobe Creative suite to create original brand appropriate artworks, placement prints, repeats and Branding packs across all multi-product categories whilst understanding the target consumer and keeping a ‘signature’ hand-writing for each brands DNA.
This Role gives great opportunity to the right candidate to work on Footasylum’s “own brands” such as Zavetti Canada, KWD, Alessandro Zavetti and many more, with excellent progression opportunities.
Responsibilities
Research
- Researching new trends/Consumers/high street competitors with a focus on commerciality and produce/present customer trend analysis board
- Passion of the fashion industry and staying up to date with industry trends – with a focus on commerciality
- Travel to UK stores and attend research trips for inspiration (may include evenings and weekends)
Innovation
- Taking ideas from research to design concept by creating initial new Designs to present to brand managers/buyers whilst understanding the target consumer and keeping a ‘signature’ hand-writing for each brands DNA
- Excellent understanding of different print techniques and the ability to innovate when it comes to embellishments/trims/print combinations
- Producing clear concise technical Graphic CAD design specifications to send onto the factories within specified time frames
Design Development
- Advanced knowledge of hand Illustration, Photoshop and Illustrator packages in order to create original artworks, placement prints, repeats and Branding packs, appropriate to each specific brand
Relationship/Communication
- Good communication skills with experience of liaising with Product Developers and factories in Turkey/China/Pakistan to give clear and concise comments
Organisation
- Self-motivated and have good time management with the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines.
- Deliver results within specified time frames. Ability to react quickly to changing demands and priorities
Mentoring
- Develop and supporting the Assistant Graphic Designers and checking designs and details before sending - proof-read as required
