The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and creative illustrator to join our business. The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience working in a commercial setting with many of the teams and titles across our Dundee HQ and Aberdeen and Glasgow offices.
There are exciting projects to get stuck into and you’ll work to briefs from our newspaper editorial and brand teams as well as corporate communications which will offer opportunities to work with a variety of different brands exploring materials, tools and techniques to further develop your creative practice.
Reporting into a design team leader, typical work for the candidate might include creating postcard art for subscribers, developing murals and signage for our office spaces, working on podcast and puzzle assets, as well as illustrating editorial features.
The successful candidate will be supported by a wider team of colleagues spanning marketing, design, editorial and technology as they imagine and bring to life the stories of the local people and places that we champion every day.

This is a full-time, one year fixed-term position, working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid role offering a blend of home and office working from our Dundee Office.
