Graphic Designer Glasgow, Scotland
Job description
Description
It’s an exciting time to join our HR function at AXA UK &I, because we’re refreshing and rebranding our candidate and colleague attraction and onboarding journey. We need a need a designer to join our small (but mighty) project team on a 12-month fixed term contract / secondment.
As Graphic Designer, you’ll report to the Head of Employer Brand and work closely with our Recruitment Marketing Manager, Learning experience team and other colleagues designing digital guidance documents and other assets for a range of internal customers. We’re on a journey at AXA UK&I, so if you’re up for a challenge, can get stuck in and roll your sleeves up, are able to work on your own initiative, and want an opportunity to make a difference we want to meet you.
We don’t need experience in financial services or insurance. This opportunity could be a great CV builder for an agency side designer who wants to experience the client-side corporate world. Or perhaps you’ve been out of the workplace for a while, want a more flexible role or just to try something different - we’re open to having a conversation because who you are is just as important as what you can do.
The only non-negotiable is that you’ll have to be fluent in applying brand guidelines – not just to be on brand but to make the visual identity as interesting and engaging as possible across a suite of digital guidance documents and other assets. We’re looking for someone who can use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and MS PowerPoint and who can also master some of our other in-house platforms with support from other team members. At AXA we’re adopting a Hybrid way of working, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You’ll be linked to our Glasgow office. We collaborate in the office on average twice per week.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll design a suite of guidance documents and other assets using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and MS PowerPoint with the opportunity to learn how to use our GOMO learning platform
- Apply our brand guidelines to engage internal customers – bringing a fresh eye to applying our photographic and illustrative look and feel
- You’ll have an eye for detail, a passion for pushing creative boundaries within a framework, and have a ‘point of view’ on what good looks like
- Act as an expert partner in visual design for teams with limited design expertise – helping them to protect and apply our brand on a day-to-day basis using imagery collections and toolkits
Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.
Qualifications
- You’ll have either marketing agency or client-side experience
- Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and MS PowerPoint and other design platforms (and no you don’t have to be an expert in all of them)
- Ability to use CMS systems (or the aptitude and attitude to learn)
- Experience of applying brand guidelines – this one is non-negotiable
- Simplify complex technical information into easy to navigate guides for non-technical audiences
- Able to work under pressure whilst retaining a sense of perspective – not afraid to ask for help
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
