About the Role
The Macmillan Grants team provides support for grant applications from people living with and affected by cancer as part of our Money and Work team. We are currently dealing with more grant applications than ever before, so we are excited to be able to offer a chance to join the team.
In this role, you will join a team of Grants Processors and together you will generate, process, and review grant applications. Using your experience, skills and knowledge, you will provide up-to-date and accurate information to those who need it, via a variety of communication channels. You will also be responsible for administrative duties and communicating with other teams.
You must be able to handle communication in a professional and compassionate way, providing support while maintaining appropriate boundaries. You will be comfortable using your initiative and working independently when required, but also be able to collaborate with the rest of the team.
It’s a challenging but very rewarding role in which you will develop your communication and administrative skills, alongside an understanding of the issues faced by people living with and affected by cancer.

- You may have some previous experience working in a customer service and/or contact centre role, but don’t worry if you haven’t.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of applications
As this is a home-based role you will need:
- A reliable broadband connection with upload and download speeds of at least 3mbps.
- To comply with strict data protection rules you must have a private confidential space to work from.
We will provide all IT equipment needed for the role.
There may be occasions where you will have the option to travel to one of our offices (London, Glasgow or Shipley - W. Yorkshire) for events or meetings.
