TRAINEE TRADER

As a Trader Trainee your focus will be on the sale and purchase of marine fuels, market intelligence and logistical planning to optimise value for our business partners. You will focus on creating and maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients and suppliers to grow our business in new and existing markets. You will develop networks and collaborate with people all over the world on a daily basis. In this role, you will be an integral part of our dedicated and passionate trading team and work alongside experienced professionals from day one.
Job Purpose:
1) To support the Trading Team in the London office by way of:
·Sales Support
·Administrative Support
·Business Development
2)To achieve a level of experience and knowledge sufficient to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of clients.
Qualifications:Qualifications: Degree standard or 2 years sales/relevant commercial experience preferred but not essential.
Skills & Experience:
Experience in bunker sales is not necessary but must have an appetite to learn and respond to training
Self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently as well as being a good team player
Essential to use own initiative and take responsibility for driving individual development
Sales driven mentality is crucial
Excellent command of both written & spoken English
Excellent numerical attention to detail and desire to add value to every task
Strong communication, interpersonal, and social skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for business and work outside of normal office hours
Enthusiastic, resourceful, outgoing, independent and confident
Job Responsibilities:
Provide Sales and administrative support to the Trading Team
Daily trading and post fixture activities
Prepare and process quotations, enquiries, sales contracts and statistics
Establish a network of contacts and build relationships with clients and suppliers
Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers
Account Management – actively work with clients to understand bunker procurement strategy and develop an account plan tailored to client needs
Monitor payment performance
Professional handling of claims and disputes in coordination with relevant stakeholders
Support business development on behalf of the company
Operational support if required
Market research
Maintain and update CRM system
Provide duty cover outside of normal office hours and during holiday periods
Be open to ad-hoc projects as they arise
Embrace change and seek opportunity

Salary: £18,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
