Graduate Trainee Accountant key responsibilities:
The accounts team prepares accounts for a variety of external clients from organizations across the UK. You will learn the fundamentals of bookkeeping, accounts preparation, VAT returns, budgeting and financial performance, personal and corporate tax and building relationships with clients.- The personal tax team prepare tax returns for our personal tax clients and directors of the companies that we prepare their company accounts. You will assist in this department over the busy tax return period inputting key data into the tax returns for review and helping with their compliance work.
- Key responsibilities of the role will also include undertaking high-quality accounts preparation services for a range of business clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Setting up new accounts files and assisting with VAT returns. Preparing personal tax returns for review.
What we are looking for
We are looking for dynamic, ambitious individuals with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who are looking for a challenge.- You will be methodical with pace, accuracy and understand the importance of excellent client service.
- You will have confidence with numbers, great attention to detail and the ability to confidently talk to people to build client relationships.
- Highly personable with a flexible approach and excellent verbal and written communication is also crucial.
- Accountancy can be technically demanding with new concepts and regulatory changes to grasp. You should be adaptable, able to learn quickly and be at ease with grasping new concepts.
Qualifications
We are looking candidates who have GCSES in Maths and English (grade 5 and above), A Levels (grades C and above) and a relevant degree, at least 2:2.
The successful candidate will be interested in having a career in accountancy and looking to study towards a formal accountancy qualification.
In addition, you will have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate excel skills as a minimum.
