Graduate Trainee Accountant
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To work as a full-time Trainee Accountant in a busy accounts department. With training under the direction of senior staff and home study, working towards ACCA. Throughout your training contract your role will include the preparation of financial statements to comply with UK reporting requirements. In addition, you will be trained as part of our audit department, to the point where you will undertake audits as the controlling senior.
A description of the role:
· Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and incorporated companies;
· Preparing personal and corporation tax computations;
· Developing an understanding of using online accountancy packages such as Sage, Xero and IRIS;
· Develop the ability to deal with enquiries from clients, HMRC and other external organisations;
· Company Secretarial duties, on behalf of our clients;
· Tax planning and gaining an understanding of the UK Tax System;
· Participate in training and performance development as required.

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:
· Be competent in using MS office products and computers;
· An understanding of confidentiality;
· Show excellent communication, organisation and presentation skills;
· Candidates with a relevant degree would be ideally suited to this role.
Full training will be given to develop the skills required and to work within a team.
37.5 hours per week
Salary – market rates depending on experience
