- Full time position, £25,000 - £28,000 p.a. pro-rata dependent on experience, plus benefits.

Job Specification
Tomson Consulting develops low carbon energy projects, and work with industry, landowners and local authorities to develop decarbonisation strategies for all aspects of building, process and land-based activities. We help our clients measure and manage carbon, and work with biodiversity specialists to ensure solutions provide the best opportunities for regeneration of habitat and wildlife. We work closely with our sister company District Eating Ltd, who’s aim is to develop sustainable low carbon horticulture using waste heat and CO2. On occasion the two businesses work together to develop holistic circular economy solutions that span sectors, industries, and demographics. Consultants working with Tomson Consulting will occasionally get the chance to work on District Eating projects. We are also currently working on a project that will see community buy-out of UK farmland for conversion to wildlife friendly, regenerative food production.
We are looking for a graduate consultant with a flexible, practical, and ‘can-do’ attitude and excellent organisational, people and communication skills. Because Tomson Consulting is small and growing, you will need to be flexible and able to cope with managing multiple projects simultaneously, learning and developing new concepts that span sectors. Be prepared for a steep learning curve-you will grow your experience with us! We need you to be extremely organised and efficient, able to speak and write confidently, and to communicate well, and speak up when you need help. We are looking for someone who can work well in a team, supporting fellow graduates and senior engineers and consultants in the team with project development and reporting, as well as marketing activities such as writing of case studies, and educational blogs.
You will get to develop your knowledge in low carbon energy, agriculture, circular economies, and learn how develop viable sustainable projects that will make a real difference to the world.

Desirable skills
· Experience with CAD or equivalent
· Familiarity with GIS software
· Knowledge of the agricultural sector
· Understanding of carbon markets

Working arrangements
The position is based in Sheffield. We support flexible working and have co-working space in Sheffield available 5 days per week. Most staff work in the co-working space several days per week, and work from home on other days.
Following an initial 6 months-1 year probationary period (depending on progress) we would then consider allowing remote working from another location, though Scotland would be preferred as we have a significant number of clients, and staff members based there.
