As our next Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll be researching client challenges, new technologies, new techniques and learning to create compelling user stories. This new knowledge will enable you to deliver mission critical software, test it and then deploy; providing a unique opportunity to witness the effect of your efforts.
The Key Requirements...
- A recent degree-level qualification in a STEM related subject
- Proficient in at least one programming language (i.e., Java, Javascript, Python, C, C++ or Go)
- A willingness to learn and work across multiple software languages. Able to demonstrate an understanding of software lifecycles and methodologies.

Where you’ll work…
Alongside hybrid and flexible working options, you’ll work in either our Romsey, Manchester, or Gloucester office….
You’ll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.
Our Manchester site is located in the heart of Media City, Europe’s fastest growing tech hub. You’ll become a key part of Roke’s growing local tech community as we support the Government levelling up agenda. There is easy, local access to our client community with great transport links and nearby local parking.
And it’s exciting times for Roke in Gloucester, in October we are moving to a brand-new bespoke office located on junction 11A of the M5. More details will be provided if you successfully move through our selection process.

Clearances…
Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC and DV clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the U.K. for the last 10 years.
